Earlier this week I experienced the most horrifying 21 hours of my fuckin life!
Lola escaped from my parents house on Monday a little after 5 and we were not reunited until shortly before 3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Talk about a nervous wreck!!!
Oh the tears...no sleep...the anxiety...the stress...the 8,000 cigs I smoked...
NOT FUN!!!
I was out the door and back at their house by 7:30 am on Tuesday to begin my search for my lost dog. I made fliers and passed them out to trash men, mailmen and construction workers...all of who were very compassionate and sensitive to my loss.
I drove for miles and in circles for nearly 7 hours looking for her, only making an occasional pit stop at my parents to use the bathroom or refill my water.
Just before I came really close to LOSING MY SHIT I got a call...
A sweet little old lady and her realtor had found her 5 streets north of my parents.
I hightailed it to where they were...and there lay my dog... muddy, wet and scared shitless in the bushes in front of her home.
And I cried...
And she exited the bushes...nearly pummeled me...and began licking me to death.
And I cried some more...
And then I gave her a bath and poured myself a large glass of wine...

Oh my God!!! Thank God you found her! I am welling up with tears just thinking about how panicked you must have been. So glad it turned out well.
Oh no. I am so glad you found her though. You live 5 blocks away from your parents and that's where she ended up being????? Wow.
Losing a pet is SO scary! It has happened to our family twice, one with one of our dogs, and once with one of our cats.
Our dog, Fenway somehow got out of our completely fenced in yard. (We never found out how either) and about 4 hours later my husband found her two blocks up, in the parking lot of a condo complex under a car scared shitless. She never did that again!!
Over this past summer one of our cats decided she wanted to go out on our back deck, get onto the roof of our house, then JUMP off! Leaving her running around our neighborhood with all the mean strays. We couldn't find her.
Eventually we got a have a heart trap and placed it in the next yard over.
Caught her not even 10 minutes later. She was too scared to get by the local cats. I bet she won't do that again either!
I am glad you found your baby though!
Stoppin' by from SITS!
That sucks! That's the worst feeling - so glad you found her and cheers to that glass of wine, well deserved.
So glad you got her back! Scary.
OMG...I don't know what I would have done!
Happy she's home safe!
Oh wow, I'm so glad you found her SAFE! I'm terrified my boys will get out someday. I'm glad this story has a happy ending.
Sounds just like me when our dog got out. I was a nervous wreck until she came home. Luckily, she found her way back in an hour, but that was the longest hour ever!
:( and then :)
what a scary day!! glad she was found. i HATE that feeling. our dog got out one time ... but LUCKILY she's a chicken and we found her huddled next to the front door, tail tucked under.
It was beyond aweful! Just two days before our new Silly Jilly got out and managed to get across 7 lanes of traffic in 1 piece.....I can't take anything more exciting than a cotton ball or a paper bag right now!
OMG. Glad you found her. I was having a heart attack for you just reading that shit!!!!! {{{HUGS}}}
I cannot even imagine how terrified I would be if that happened to Sadie! I am so so so glad you found her safe and sound!
OMG! So glad you found her. Bear used to run after squirrels...and nearly gave me about 10 heart attacks. So I hear ya, sista!!!!

I am very glad that you found your bottle of wine to get your through this loss and yes, I am glad that you found her also...just like I am glad I found you!!
