Online Dating...

My girlfriends think I should try it.

I've gone out on dates without the assistance of my computer...

However no one has really knocked my flip-flops off yet.

The whole thing makes me a little nervous. I mean what if I end up stuffed in someone's trunk? Or worse...dead!

Stories like the one about The Craig's List Murderer certainly don't help either!

I just don't know...

Thoughts???

Stereos and Souffles set up and account on match.com just so we could have access and see who's available in our zip code.

I'm here to tell you NOT MUCH!

Seriously out of 32 pages of men...There are only 3 that I would consider!

And it's NOT that I'm picky...

I just KNOW what I want!

Hey girl! I met my husband online 4 years ago on Yahoo Personals...I think it's worth a shot! Just be safe and smart about it if you do decide to meet up with anyone in person. You know the drill, public place, drive yourself, let a few friends know where you are going to be etc. etc. Let me know how this new adventure pans out :)

Great advice Jennifer.

I met a great guy online (the only time I ever did that) and we dated on and off. Then my immaturity kicked in and I went back to an exboyfriend. Argh. (whacking myself in the face).

Whichever, here I am married, a beautiful kid...it's all good. :)

I met your - how you say - "flip flop thrower" - and he is currently dating someone... NOT married... just dating. So when she doesn't work out, load up on flip flops, is all I can say! (Till then, I'll keep my peepers open!)

Oh, yeah, I say give eHarmony a try... I hear success stories from people who met their flip flop tosser there - more so than Match.

Oh Boy...
Y'all SERIOUSLY think I should give this a shot???
If I end up in someone's trunk y'all will need to pack my house and decide who's gonna take Lola...

And go ahead and start a shoe museum in honor of me when I'm gone.

Give it a try! Even though you don't see many guys you're interested in, there might be some good guys with "private" profiles" that will see you.

Be sure to post pictures/bios/etc of each guy you meet on your blog for us to analyze ...and just in case something happens. :)

Don't worry... S&S will have a full FBI report on the potential suitor before you even go on your first date!

My friend Marsha is trying to find someone perfectly wonderful and she has been looking for 3 years now. Everyone she tries on match.com ends up being a dud. She is such a wonderful problem. I don't know what's the matter with men.

Hope your flip flops are blown away soon!

I was about to give up on Match.com after a long line of duds and a few jerks. I felt the same, that there just weren't any guys who met what I was searching for. Then, just as I was about to cancel my account, a guy popped up in my 'matches.' I took a chance, sent him an email, he emailed back, we chatted by phone, scheduled a first date and now, just a few years later, we're married and expecting our first baby together. I was his first and last Match.com date! The funny thing too is that we met here in the DC area through Match.com, but grew up just 45 min's apart from one another in the Philly/Jersey area and grew up going to the same shore town.

There are definitely a lot of jerks and duds on the various online dating sites, but sometimes the guy you're searching for pops up. It's definitely worth a shot!

To be careful, I always gave a girl friend the name, cell number, and profile of the guy I was going out with. Just be careful and trust your gut. If someone doesn't seem right, they probably aren't.

Good luck and hope you give it a try! :)
