This One's Not Gonna Be Easy...

Dear Old Guy and Your Not So Old Wife,

Two days from today I will be saying so long to our fancy gated community and moving away from the two of you...

Words could never express how much you guys mean to me. I am so thankful to have you in my life...As is Lola.

Thank you for all of your love and support.

Thank you for being my second parents.

Thank you for all of the wonderful home cooked suppers you have invited me to. Your Not So Old Wife is such a FABULOUS cook! And you are quite The Grill Master...I'm gonna miss your BURNED TO SHIT chicken!

Thank you for coaching me in tennis and allowing me to beat you a time or two...And for not shaking your head when I bring a glass of wine to the court and just taking a sip instead.

Thank you for being my plumber, my pool guy, my eBay seller, my lawn maintenance man, my photographer, my tennis coach, my painter, my dog sitter, my air conditioner fixer, my electrician, my red wine drinking partner and most importantly my friend!

Thank you for being MY OLD GUY!

Whatever nursing home gets you is sure gonna hit the jackpot!

The thought of moving away from you guys breaks my heart...However I think it's gonna be good for my liver.

Love you both with all my heart,

Life, Love & Lola

Ahhh it's sad when you have to move away from people you think are great. But I'm sure it's for the good. This was really cute post!

I'm not sure what to say, I am only sure how I feel. I know you are not moving far, but just the fact that you will not be 'right' next door is not sitting well with me.
It has been my pleasure to be all of those things (you forgot snake-ridder)to you and especially to be your good friend. We both think of you as a third daughter. It is not often that an old geezer gets to be friends with a cute mermaid!
We have gone through a lot of ups and downs recently; some deep downs, but also some great ups.
Not-so-old wife who is wiser than the old guy and wiser than the young wise gal has enjoyed making sure that you are properly nourished. She IS a marvelous cook.
We will still try to hit oncea week on your way to your new home...you aren't rid of me yet.

I'm not going to cry-at least not right now..but this a friendship that should last through "ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no mountain low enough to keep me from you!!!" (Diana Ross- for those who didn't get it)
We aren't losing the OLD GuY and his exquisitely beautiful good cook wife who isn't that old- we are just going to have to make the effort to keep fabulous people like them in our lives M
